Inspection Form for Hotels

In response to a demand for greater fire safety in hotels and apartment houses, the National Board of Fire Underwriters has issued a self inspection form. The self inspection blank furnishes a practical procedure for the detection of fire hazards and hazards to human life in hotels and enables management, fire departments, and building inspectors to determine corrective measures.

In issuing this hotel inspection form, W. E. Mallalicu, general manager of the National Board, recommended that “An inspection he made at least once each month by the chief engineer or other responsible member of the operating staff.” Mr. Mallalicu further pointed out that it would he of mutual advantage if the local fire chief or the officer in charge of the local fire prevention bureau of the fire department could accompany the chief engineer when inspections arc made.
