The 33rd annual convention of the Hudson Valley Volunteer Firemen’s Association was held in Mount Vernon, N. Y., the week of June 22, and was attended by about 350 delegates, closing with a parade in which 5,000 firemen and officials participated with apparatus from many different sections of the state. The annual election resulted in the election of C. W. Murphy of Beacon, as president; J. P. Beachert of Kingston, first vice-president; J. J. Moy of Hudson, second vice-president; Andrew Murphy of Kingston, treasurer, and C. W. Noll of Poughkeepsie, secretary, the latter two being re-elected. A 100 mile auto trip around the Kensico dam was one of the features. The convention was held in Turn Verein Hall. Beacon was selected as the city for the annual convention next year.
