The total value of buildings exposed to fire was $292,683; the total loss on these was $12,584. Total insurance, $178,360; the total insurance paid on these was $9,089.28. The total value of contents at risk was $103,652.92; total loss on these was $12,897; total insurance on them, $66,075; the total insurance paid on contents at risk was $9,906.23; the total value of buildings and contents at risk was $398.337 92. Total loss on these, $25,481.50; total insurance on them, $244,635; total insurance paid on buildings and contents, $18,995.51. Chief F. A. Sutherland’s showing is a highly creditable one, all the more that on the 2,300 acres that make up the fire-area of Everett the majority of the buildings are of wood, with wooden roofs permitted.
