Firemen Prepare for Bombings
Members of the New York City Fire Department have been receiving intensive training in the extinguishment of incendiary fires, such as those caused by aerial bombardment. This training is based on daily reports received from the British fire fighters.
England’s lessons have taught that the most advantageous method of fighting incendiary bombings is to wet down the fires at night to prevent them from spreading, and then to extinguish them during the daytime when there is less danger from machine gunning and bombing.
