For more than 140 years, Fireman’s Fund has been helping communities all across the country. It’s a core tradition built into the company, a value lived by its 3,200 employees, and a symbol of its commitment to help those who need help the most.

The earthquake in Haiti is no different. Though this tragedy is thousands of miles away, the pictures of destruction and despair have touched everyone’s hearts close to home and inspired Fireman’s Fund employees to do what they can to help.

Since the earthquake, employees made individual donations to the American Red Cross totaling $47,248. Today, Fireman’s Fund is matching that amount with a $94,496 donation to the American Red Cross Haiti Relief and Development Fund.

“Hundreds of thousands of lives were affected by this tragedy, and we hope our collective donation will make a difference to a country that so desperately needs the world’s help,” said Mike LaRocco, president and CEO of Fireman’s Fund. “I am touched by the outpouring of support shown by our employees to help the people of Haiti.”

Following the earthquake, Fireman’s Fund pledged to match any employee donation up to $1,000 per person to the American Red Cross.

Fireman’s Fund’s core philanthropic mission is to support local fire departments across the country. The money is used to provide needed equipment, training, and educational tools to local fire departments.
