Firefighter-medic Jeff Miller recently shared a YouTube video that aims to helpfirefighters with activating the heads up display (HUD) for their Interspiro self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA).
According to Miller, members of his department have had issues with the HUDs not activating on account of the weak magnets in the digital display unit (DDU). “A neodymium magnet attached to your turnout gear is far stronger and activates the HUD unit super fast, enabling us to get to work faster, ” Miller wrote in an e-mail.
