When the Weston Volunteer Fire Department arrived, the wood-shingled, three-story home was fully involved, including the garage, with flames visible through the roof. Tankers from four surrounding towns helped provide water in this suburban Connecticut community, which has virtually no hydrants. Approximately five hours after battling the blaze in humid, 90-degree heat, a recall was issued. No one was injured, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
