Fire Departments and the Insurance Companies.
At the earnest and repeated solicitation of Chief Eaton, I have consented to say a few words to you upon this occasion. This invitation, coming so soon after my address to you at Meriden, I would have declined had he not assured me it was the expressed wish of your committee that I should accept it.
What I will say to you will be more the nature of a talk than an address and be devoted more to showing the bond of sympathy between the fire insurance companies and the fire departments than to any other topic.
