FIRE DEPARTMENT NEWS
—The captain of chemical engine No. 3, of the Baltimore Fire Department, Joseph C. McGregor, has resigned his position in order to accept the captaincy of the Salvage Corps. This selection was made by the Board of Managers to fill the vacancy occasioned by the resignation of Capt. Wesley Shaw
—At Quincy, Ill., an ordinance has been favorably reported increasing the pay of the fire department. The proposed monthly schedule is: Tillermen, $50; drivers, $50; day men, $8; night men, $15; foremen, $12; engineers, $15; drivers and tillermen to uniform themselves at their own expense.
