We are indebted to Chief Robert Kiersted, of the Newark (N. J.) Fire Department, for a bound copy of his report for the year 1890.
John Boyle succeeds Walter E. Price as chief engineer of the fire department of Champaign, Ill. Ex-Chief Price, who has been connected with the fire department for over twenty years, and is particularly well liked by the members, was upon his retirement presented with a handsome gold-headed cane and elected captain of hose company No. 1.
