Columbus, O.—Bids were opened last week by Safety Director Bargar for furnishing motor fire apparatus as follows: The Webb Motor Fire Apparatus Company of St Louis, combination hose and chemical truck. $5,156. Victor Motor Truck Company of Buffalo, supply truck, $2.460; four combination chemical and hose cars, $20,000; six close-coupled tractors, $22,600; six regular tractors, $18,300. Kelly Motor Truck Company of Springfield, supply truck. $2,850. Avery Company of Peoria, Ill., supply truck, $2.950; Columbus Buggy Company, squad car, $2,050; Front Drive Motor Company of Hoboken, N. J., front drive tractor. $3,950; six from drive tractors and one two-ton Dayton truck. $25,300. Couple Gear Freight Wheel Company of Grand Rapids, combination hose and chemical car, $6,690; four-wheel tractor, $5,610; four-wheel tractor for hook and ladder, $5,510; front-drive tractor, $4,300. Seagrave Company, Columbus, supply truck, $1,800; combination hose and chemical car, $4,900 each, or $19,600 for four; tractors $4,400 each, or $26,400 for four.
Altoona, Pa.—Contract has been let to the Knox Automobile Company, of Springfield, Mass., for furnishing an auto fire truck for the local department.
