Fire Bids Opened.
LINCOLN, NER.—Bids on a combination chemical engine and hose automobile for the fire department were opened last week by the fire committee. Four bids were received as follows: Webb Com pany. four cylinder machine. $5,000; six cylinder $5,500. American-La France Company, four syl inder, $5,500. Anderson C ompany, four cylinder. $5,200; six cylinder. $5,050 Scagraves company, four cylinder, $1,700; six cylinder. $5,350.

Contracts for furnishing fire hose were awarded as follows: To the Gutta Percha & Rubber Manufacturing Company for 5oo feet, at $1.25 per foot: 650 feel at $1 a foot, and 58 feet at 85 cents a foot To the Chicago Tire Hose Company for 050 feet at $1 per foot, and 50 feet at 80 cents a foot
