The new station for Fire Company No. 3, of Edgewater, N. J., has been completed at a cost of $7,000. Three new pieces of apparatus have been ordered and additional improvements are planned. It is planned also to put into operation a new system for appointing firemen: New men to be appointed on probation and before entering on their duties to have three weeks’ training with the department in New York City; one week in the repair shop and one week of active service with a fire company in one of the busy sections of New York.
