FDIC 2015: Report from HOT, Day 1

FDIC International 2015got off to a wet and windy start, but since when is a fireground ever perfect weather conditions? Training the way you play includestrainingin less-than-pristine conditions.

Even with the weather, the enthusiasm for FDIC International was obvious on the faces of attendees to Urban Essentials class at the Wayne Township Fire Academy. It was easy to see that they wanted to get going after being briefed by instructors on how the day would go. And why not? Where else will you find multiple forcible entry props, saws upon saws gassed up and ready to go, hundreds of feet of hoseline already flaked out and ready to go than an FDIC class.

It is a unique experience coming to HOT evolutions because of the resources available to FDIC International. Beyond the equipment fire service vendors make available to the conference, the Indianapolis (IN) Fire Department and surrounding areas make facilities, apparatus, and personnel available on a level you won’t find at any other fire service conference.

The unique combination of equipment and training won’t stop at the end of HOT. after getting a chance to see and use the newest equipment available, the exhibits will offer an opportunity to learn about all of them from the people designing and distributing the tools we use on the job every day.

There is no better place to learn about everything we do than FDIC International.
