EXHIBITS.
THE COMBINATION LADDER COMPANY,
of Providence, R. I., made one of the most extensive exhibits of fire supplies ever shown at any convention of the Massachusetts State Firemen’s asociation. The display occupied 124 feet of table and counter space, and comprised all the wellknown specialties manufactured by the company, as well as nearly every fire tool necessary to the complete equipment of a fire department The attention bestowed upon this exhibit by the delegates justified and repaid the effort and expense attendant upon its presentation. Special interest centered upon the display of Neptune holders and Deluge sets, Holloway chemical tank, Baker cellar pipes, Decarrie shut-off nozzles, extension ladders, and the exhibit of wax-treated hose. At the tests given in front of the Deane Steam Pump works the visiting chiefs bestowed much notice on the work done by the Newcomb Deluge water tower, the Baker cellar pipe, and the remarkable showing made by the Neptune Deluge sets. Of the latter a two-way, three-way, and four-way were in active display at one time—each set being operated by a ten-year-old-boy. The four-way set throw through a two and one-half-inch nozzle (held by the ten-year-old boy alone) one of the largest fire streams ever seen except such as can be thrown from a flreboat. It was in truth “an eye-opener” to all. This entire exhibit and test were highly commended and were indicative of the enterprise always shown by this live concern. It was in charge of C. N. Richardson, the proprietor, and E. A. Whitaker and J.L Kelly, traveling salesmen.
