Eastern Underwriters Sponsor Scholarships
Fifteen scholarships at the University of Maryland’s College of Engineering have been sponsored by the seven fire insurance rating organizations in the Eastern Underwriters Association. Worthy applicants will be selected from among 1959 high school graduates in 11 states and the District of Columbia. These include Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Vermont.
Each scholarship will include the full four-year tuition plus room and board on the campus. Students will have summer employment with the rating organization to which they are assigned and each will agree to serve that organization for at least four years after graduation.
