Curtis Talks to Kansas Firemen
Charles Curtis, Vice-President of the United States, and Arthur Capper, U. S. Senator, spoke to the Kansas firemen assembled at a banquet which was part of the program of the third annual Firemen’s Short Course held in Topeka, June 8-10.
Both speakers stressed the valuable service that firemen render to society and they praised the fearless efforts of fire-fighters to save life and property. The firemen expressed their appreciation of the remarks by unanimously voting to make Vice-President Curtis and Senator Capper honorary life members of the Kansas State Firemen’s Association and each one was presented with a gold badge.
