卡罗来纳州和佐治亚州三州水与光协会的第五届年度大会今天于6月36日在北卡罗来纳州的阿什维尔开放,一直持续到6月19日。该协会的官员是:主席F. C. Wyse;副主席J. W. Neave,L。H。Hill和E. M. Anderson;秘书长J. G. Barinvell。大会经理是W. F. Stieglitz。阿什维尔贸易委员会秘书N. C.; addresses by the president of the association, Mr. Wyse. The following addresses are on the program for Thursday: “Water and Light Department Accounting,” by Charles J. Metz, member of the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants; “The Development of the Process of Filtration for the Purification of Turbid Rivers in America,” by Guy H. White, superintendent Columbia Filter; “Municipal Progress,” by W. M. Fambrough, Atlanta; "Necessity of Central Control of Public Water Supplies,” by Ray C. Werner, chemist Georgia State Board of Health; “Conservation of the Public Water Supplies,” by Verne Rhoades, U. S. Forest Service, Washington, D. C.; “The Functions of a Water Works System as Applied to Fire Protection vs. Domestic Service,” by E. B. Proctor, Inspector Southeastern Underwriters Association, Atlanta; “The Control of Purity of Water Supplies,” by Francis L. Parker, chemist South Carolina Board of Health, Charleston; “The Lighting Company as a Retailer,” by George E. Evans, Ashville. The election of officers and selection of next place of meeting, will be on Thursday. In the evening hour, a speakers’ night will be held at which the speakers are to be the guests of the association. The master of ceremonies will be E. M. Anderson, and there are to be brief addresses by Marcus Erwin, Judge Henry B. Stevens, Dr. C. M. Rakcstraw, Zeb F. Curtis, F. C. Wyse and A. J. Sproles. Speakers’ reception committee consists of E. M. Anderson. J. W. Neave and J. W. Smith. Friday will be Superintendents’ Day. Leaders —A. J. Sprolcs, Superintendent Greenwood Water Works and Lighting Plant, and H. W. Plumer, V. P. and Gen Mgr., Ashville Power Company. Question box, dealing with matters common to the operation and care of a water and light plant. On Friday there will also be a drive through the Biltmore estate of the late Geo. W. Vanderbilt, and in the evening a roof garden entertainment at "The Langren.” The Saturday program Includes an address—“Mazda C Lamps for Street Lighting." by J. T. Kerens, New Jersey, and an address— "The Incandescent Lamp as an Artifical Illuminant, Past, Present and Future," by W. w. E. Lotspeich, Atlanta. A display of f modern modern apparatus, equipment and applies will be exhibited and demonstrated in the convention hall.
