Commissioner W. A. Reilly Resigns
Fire Commissioner William Arthur Reilly of Boston has resigned from the Department, effective February 28, 1945 for the purpose of assuming a position in the service of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as Chairman of the Metropolitan District Commission.
In his new position, Fire Commissioner Reilly replaces former Fire Commissioner Eugene Hultman and he will assume charge of the extensive water supply system, park system, recreational facilities and police force of the M.D.C. The Metropolitan District embraces the City of Boston and approximately 40 cities and towns in the adjoining area.
