Chemical Engine Explodes.
While responding to a fire alarm early on the morning of August 25 the chemical engine belonging to Brevard, N. C., was overturned in rounding a corner and immediately thereafter exploded, killing a negro, injuring Chief Galloway and three others. The cause of the explosion is wholly a matter of conjecture on the part of the local department.
