Brake System Air Tapped For Pneumatic Chisels
Like most fire departments, the Richmond, Calif., Fire Department is facing an ever increasing problem of extricating auto crash victims. In addition to the standard extrication tools, we use air chisels that operate off the air brake systems of our apparatus.
The idea was developed by Captain Bud Axelsen, the fire department training officer, and Harris Jamieson, the city shop foreman.
