The Tri-Community Volunteer Fire Department (Madisonville, Tennessee) protects a rural area. Chief Chad Leming says the department’s 4 GUYS pumper/tanker works in conjunction with another pumper and tanker and is capable of being a water supply or fire attack unit. The large tank allows for a stronger initial attack.
The Bettendorf (IA) Fire Rescue operates this dedicated HME/ALEXIS hazmat unit supported on each call by an ALS engine company. Chief Gerald A. Voelliger says the unit is the primary response vehicle for all city hazmat calls and responds to requests in the eastern portion of Scott County. It is also attached to MABAS 43 and can be deployed regionally or nationally.
