LOCKPORT.—On examination we can find no law on the subject referred to in your first question, and so far as we have means of knowing there is no authority of law for the payment of the two per cent tax to relief societies outside of chapter 465, of the session laws of the State of New York for 1875, as amended by subsequent enactments.
