F. HAYWARD & CO., of New York, with branch stores in Boston and Pittsburg, make a large exhibit which attracts much attention. They manufacture anything and everything in the way of equipment and apparatus for fire protection. Their latest improvements are briefly illustrated and described as follows: The New York patent swinging harness, collar and hames attracts much attention because it presents a valuable improvement in the shape of a double catch, which absolutely prevents horses becoming unhitched after starting; it also has a selfhitching device by means of which spirited horses are completely controlled.
The Kclipse Combination Pipe is a pipe for regular ground use, or can be used on a ladder,or as a water tower, as well as from a window, or in any position possible to use a pipe. It gives three outlets, 2 inch. 1 inch, and any other size. It swivels on a bed-plate as shown in the cut, and has a swivel ring for attaching a rope when used as a water tower; a pipe stick for ground work accompanies each pipe, and with it one man can easily do the work of three or four with a common pipe.
