Two Columbus (OH) firefighters were injured Sunday morning while fighting a fire on the city’s west side.
Firefighters responding to a fire call on the block of South Ogden Avenue shortly before 10 a.m. Sunday called for a working fire assignment. Battalion Chief James Davis told NBC4 (http://bit.ly/JXDkv0) that when firefighters arrived, there was heavy fire in the front of the house.
One victim reportedly jumped from the second floor of the building after being alerted to the fire by neighbors. He was treated by medics at the scene, but declined to be taken to a hospital.
A fire lieutenant was transported after suffering burns to his shoulder while assessing the scene. A second firefighter also suffered minor burns at the fire; his mask partially melted due to the heat of the fire.
