PA Fire Chief Hospitalized After Rescue

The Ardmore (PA) fire chief remained hospitalized following his rescue of a 102-year-old fire victim.

Chief Tom Hayden rescued the elderly female Friday night from a kitchen fire in her Villanova home, according to a report on mailinemedianews.com (http://bit.ly/PiIIF5).

Hayden arrived first at the fire in the 2200 block of North Ridge Lane and brought the woman out of the smoke filled home. He suffered smoke inhalation and was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where he was still in intensive care, according to a Monday report.

Hayden is expected to make a full recovery. There is no word on the victim’s condition.
