A mother and daughter were killed by a fire that erupted in their 24th-floor Manhattan apartment early Sunday, cops said.
The blaze broke out in the kitchen of the apartment on Audubon Ave. near W. 178th St. in Washington Heights just after midnight, police said.
Around 50 firefighters battled the blaze, bringing it under control just after 1 a.m., officials said.
Firefighters brought a 73-year-old woman out of the apartment. Medics rushed her to Harlem Hospital but she couldn’t be saved, police said.
The woman’s 37-year-old daughter was taken to New York-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center where she later died, according to police.
The victims’ names were not immediately released.
