House Fire Injures 3 Kansas City (MO) Firefighters

Three firefigthers were treated at a hospital after suffering injuries in a Kansas City (MO) house fire on Saturday. They were released later in the day.

According toa report in theKansas City Star, one firefighter’s SCBA mask was knocked off during an incident at a two-story home, and the firefighter inhaled smoke and superheated air. Two others suffered smoke inhalation.

The three were part of a search team that became momentarily trapped on the house’s second floor by a blast of fire. Arapid intervention team (RIT)then entered with another hoseline to rescue the trapped firefighters. All the occupants of the home made it out safely before firefighters arrived.
