A fire at an art gallery near downtown could have been much worse had it not been for the quick action of Houston firefighters, reports khou.com.
Firefighters were able to quickly get into the Betz Art Gallery in the 2500 block of Summer Street and rescue artists inside and gain control of the fire before it spread. There were no injuries reported to any artists or firefighters.
火灾的原因being investigated by the HFD Arson Unit.
HFD District Chief Wallace Page said that had the fire not been in the front of the warehouse, the situation could have been much worse.
“Because of the fact that (the gallery) is broken up into cubicles, it’s very hard for us to maneuver through the building,” Page said. “It was very convenient that it was close to the large overhead doors and we could see it rather easily and suppress it quickly.”
