A double-decker Megabus struck an interstate support pillar Thursday in central Illinois. One person was killed and dozens were injured in the accident.
Firefighters and other emergency responders used ladders to access victims trapped inside the vehicle, according to a USA Today report (http://usat.ly/RhkkKy).
At least 38 people were taken to hospitals, and at least five were transported by helicopter. The bus was reportedly carrying 81 passengers when it near Litchfield, about 55 miles northeast of St. Louis.
