A student is facing charges for setting a series of fires in academic buildings on the campus of Boston College in November.
Pengliang Yue, a Boston College undergraduate student from China, was arrested by college police last Tuesday, according to a report fromThe Boston Globe(http://bo.st/1cOrm0K). He was reportedly suspended and banned from the campus.
The arrest came after weeks of investigation into three small fires that were apparently set inside two academic buildings on November 9. One of the suspicious fires was lit in Gasson Hall, a century-old building with a Gothic tower. That same evening, the sprinkler system at Stokes Hall, a building that opened in January, went off to extinguish a fire that had broken out on the third and fourth floors of the north wing; the structures sustained water and smoke damage on the fourth floor. There were no injuries in either incident.
