Star fire sprinklers recalled
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), in cooperation with Mealane Corp. (which was Star Sprinkler Co. until 1976) of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is voluntarily recalling up to one million Star brand fire sprinklers manufactured from 1961 through 1976. They could fail in a fire. The sprinklers were installed nationwide, primarily in nursing homes, but may also be found in hospitals, in schools, at resorts, in stores, in office buildings, in warehouses, and in supermarkets.
