Besides San Francisco, Chicago, and Philadelphia are hosting special events and film screenings for healthcare providers committed to solving the nation’s healthcare crisis and exploring how Obama’s healthcare bill will (or won’t) address key challenges to care, including emergency room overcrowding, and use of 911 as a substitute for primary care by the underinsured or uninsured. Organizers said they believe that essential healthcare reforms will be implemented as a result of the sharing of experiences and best practices among healthcare providers through education, entertainment, social media and face-to-face gatherings like this event.
