A 61-year-old North Carolina fire chief died recently following emergency responses.
According to the U.S. Fire Administration (USFA), ForbushVolunteerFire Department Fire Chief Ricky Wooten Doub responded to an EMS and a fire call during the day on December 16 and was later found deceased at home by his wife around 1700 hours that evening. A nature and cause of fatal injury for Chief Doub is still to be determined.
Chief Doub had 29 years of service. To date, 85firefighterfatalitieshave been reported to USFA in 2014
