Detroit Fire Crews Control Fire in Vacant Apartment Building

Dennis Walus recently shared photos from a fire in an abandoned apartment building in Detroit, Michigan.

On Monday October 31 2016, Detroit companies responded to a reported apartment building on fire, Arson reported a working fire in a vacant apartment building.

Engine 40 arrived on the scene and stretched on the vacant, four-story apartment building. Chief 8 arrived on the scene and assumed incident command and requested a second alarm and, because of building conditions from a previous fire, ordered a defensive attack on this building. Ladder 7 and Ladder 17 were set up aerial operations. This fire was brought under control in about three hours.
